Description

The abbey church of Saint-Austremoine is a Romanesque church dating back to the late 11th and early 12th centuries. It is the largest Romanesque church in Lower Auvergne and one of the most important buildings of the southern Puy-de-Dôme region.

Guided tours for individuals in July and August (see our agenda), and guided tours for groups all year round by reservation with the Tourist Office. For children aged 6 to 12 years: a booklet "Tell me about the abbey church of Saint-Austremoine in Issoire" made by the Pays d'Art et d'Histoire d'Issoire is available free of charge at the Tourist Office (just next to the abbey church).
